Teenager Busted for Pretending to Be a Doctor

An 18-year-old has allegedly been duping the Florida Department of Health and law enforcement agencies for several months now by pretending to be a licensed physician.

The Palm Beach Sheriff’s office accuses Malachi A. Love-Robinson, an 18-year-old African-American, of providing medical treatment and advice without a medical license after an undercover agent posed as a patient at Robinson’s office.

Robinson, who has been accused multiple times previously for practicing medicine without proper licensure, contends that he did not treat or offer medical advice to the undercover agent, nor has he ever done so, according to a February 17 story published in the New York Times.

Robinson claims to have a PhD and a license to practice holistic medicine from the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.

Nonetheless, Robinson has been issued cease and desist orders from the Florida health department, and could face third degree felony charges for practicing medicine without a license.
