Former licensee can be disciplined despite not holding a current license

A former licensee who refused to provide his last name to an investigator from the New Jersey Racing Commission and who improperly engaged in work requiring a license may be disciplined despite not currently holding a license, a New Jersey appellate court ruled August 31.

John Colasanti, the licensee in the case, was originally licensed as a trainer and as a groom. In 1997, he was convicted of conspiracy to promote gambling but the conviction was expunged in 2010.
