Discipline is reinstated after appellant failed to properly challenge evidence

In a September 7 decision, the Court of Appeals of North Carolina overturned a ruling by a lower court vacating discipline imposed by a state counseling board on a licensee accused by a patient of sexual assault.

In 2017, a patient accused counselor Robert McCarter of sexual assault during treatment in 2008, then blackmailed him, threatening to out McCarter's actions to his wife unless he donated $10,000 to the accuser . . .
