Licensing agency must analyze whether non-live remote learning is effective

The Health Professions Appeal and Review Board of Ontario, in a November 2 ruling, stated that the province's College of Psychologists had improperly rejected an application from a graduate of a counselling program that involved a significant amount of non-live, asynchronous remote education. The board wrote that the College's Registration Committee had not sufficiently analyzed whether such education programs are effective and sufficiently similar to those with more face-to-face learning.
